The Mission of the Lapeer District Library is to provide and promote public access to information.

Vision
The Lapeer District Library exists to provide and promote public access to information through a quality collection of materials reflecting all viewpoints and services which fulfill educational, cultural and recreational needs of the community.

Values
The Lapeer District Library strives to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful and professional.

The Lapeer District Library was established January 1, 2003, pursuant to Act No. 24 of the Public Acts of 1989, as amended.  The participating municipalities in this agreement are Lapeer County, The City of Lapeer, Lapeer Township, Mayfield Township and Goodland Township.  The district of the Lapeer District Library shall consist of all that territory which is currently located in the jurisdictional limits of the County of Lapeer except Almont Township, Attica Township, Dryden Township, Imlay Township, North Branch Township, and the City of Imlay, and that portion of Brown City within Lapeer County.
