Friends of the Library are dedicated volunteers and advocates for libraries who raise much needed funds, sponsor programs and special events and host popular used book sales. The Friends of the Marguerite deAngeli Library is a non-profit, 501c3 organization formed to promote the interests and welfare of the Marguerite deAngeli Branch of the Lapeer District Library.
We provide funding for
- Speakers and entertainers for programming for all ages.
- Materials for craft projects.
- Large-scale events like the Summer Reading Program, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, and the deAngeli StoryWalk!

The Friends of the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library will be accepting material donations 2nd Saturday in at the Lapeer Center for Innovation from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. Access the building on the West side entrance.
Donations should be in good, clean condition.
- No magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, vinyl records, AV materials (DVDS, Books on CD/tape, VHS, music CDs) or books in poor condition.
- Donors must bring items inside the building, volunteers will not be touching materials. A book cart will be available to use.
- Please bring in boxes if possible, some boxes may be available.
- No donations will be accepted any other days/times. Please do not leave donations at the branch on other days.
- Volunteer availability and weather may impact these dates. It's best to always call the deAngeli Branch the day of to confirm.
