Program Description

Event Details

From his latest book, "The History of Tiger Stadium: A Love Letter to Baseball at Michigan & Trumbull", Doc Fletcher shares tales of the Grand Old Ballpark at The Corner, from its 1896 origins as Bennett Park thru 1912 Navin Field, 1938 Briggs Stadium, and 1961 Tiger Stadium.

Where - together with great-grand parents, grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, siblings, children, godchildren, and friends - we have cheered our Detroit Tigers. Although the structure is gone, the memories remain. C'mon out to hear stories of Charlie Bennett - the man the first ballpark at The Corner was named in honor of, along with Ty Cobb, Hammerin' Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline, Stormin' Norman Cash, Ernie Harwell, and so many more.

Registration is required for this in-person program. Books will be for sale during this program.
