National Library Week 2021

NLW 2021

National Library Week  April 4 - 10 2021

National Library Week is celebrated every year at libraries across America. It’s meant to being focus to the work and services provided by libraries and library workers.

Each year, the American Library Association chooses a theme for National Library Week (NLW). This year’s theme is Welcome to Your Library, and will showcase the services and resources available to library users in-person and virtually. To learn more about this year’s NLW and the history of NLW visit ala.org.

To celebration NLW 2021, the Lapeer District Library is showcasing our resources with Seven Days of Services. While you may be aware of some of the featured resources, we hope you learn about some LDL services available you weren’t aware of before. Watch our Facebook page to follow our Seven Days of Services posts.

During NLW, LDL will also be hosting a Kids Coloring Contest. Pick up a coloring sheet at any LDL branch or download one here. After your child is finished coloring their masterpiece, take a picture of the creation and email it to ldlcontest@lib.lapeer.org. We will draw a winner from each branch for a $10 Gift Card to Blend Frozen Yogurt Bar in Lapeer (or another local restaurant). All entries will be included in the prize drawing. Entries must be turned in by Saturday, April 10 @ 5pm. Winners will be contacted the following week.
